Sims 4 and Switching Majors

Hello all,

I changed my major…. Again.

As my first year of university comes to a close I feel like I have gone through a multitude of hurdles in trying to find myself and my identity.

When the sims 4 university expansion pack came out that gave me reasonably unrealistic expectations of what to expect from college. Something that was so comforting about the sims is how you could change anything at any time with no real consequences.

When paying for my sim’s college I could simply type in a console command and never worry about student loans or making the wrong choice.

In my intro blog post I mentioned being a digital media design and communications double major. This made sense because I went to a vocational school for digital media.

However, I wasn’t loving my classes and kept doubting my decisions.

It’s now the end of my first year and I officially changed my major.

It felt weird changing from DMD because that was my whole identity and I felt like It wasn’t smart to change.

My advice to college students going through a similar situation is that you’re not stuck. You are allowed to change your mind because life isn’t a stagnant thing.

So you’re all probably wondering what I changed to. Drum roll please…..

I am now a Journalism and English double major. I am still minoring in digital media design but I feel way more confident in my choice now. I always felt like I was better at writing than art and I like my prospects of writing as a career.

I also feel like there are much more opportunities I would like to pursue. I am still in the media world but more focused on writing. You just have to adjust to life’s twists and turns and follow what your heart is telling you.

Signing out,

Teddy
